Equestrian Horse Vision
I knew I was dreaming, but I was aware that the Lord was speaking to me through it. I saw a horse with a rider who was continually jumping over obstacles and eagerly looking to the next one. The horse was jumping over various obstacles comprised of fences, hedges, pools of water, flowerbeds and brick walls. Sometimes these obstacles were separate, and sometimes they were together, e.g. a fence or hedges with a pool of water or a flowerbed in front of it. The horse was required to leap over and clear every obstacle, which he did with ease as he responded to his rider. Some of the obstacles were very high and some were comfortably low to jump. My understanding was enlightened as it was revealed how the horse was listening to and responding to every thing the rider did and said, thus able to accomplish every jump.
When the horse approached where I was, I saw that the rider was Jesus. He then began to reveal to me what this was all about. Your life is like that obstacle course the horse was jumping. It takes instruction and training to overcome and become a winner. Further, the Lord has a plan for you and wants to teach you His ways so that you can fulfill His will for your life.
I had not known how an equestrian horse was able to jump over so many obstacles and still come out walking tall and becoming the victor in the race. The Lord showed me that in the same way the horse was trained, His people are to be trained. The horse was trained to respond in a specific manner to every whisper in his ear and every nudge of the rider’s foot or knee against his body. He is also trained to respond to every slight pressure from the legs or hands of the rider. Even a body shift, such as leaning forward or backward means something to the trained horse. This is the example of how you are to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Lord was showing that you must submit yourself to the Holy Spirit’s training, following His lead and thus becoming capable of succeeding with everything He gives you to do.
Spring is here. It’s in the air
The flowers are blooming everywhere
In God’s creation I can see
His beautiful plan for you and me.
He created the seed that it might die,
His voice is heard, the seed is raised toward the sky.
Growing as a plant so tender
Then for His glory, fruit to render.
But we say we cannot hear His voice,
How do we know…what is our choice?
Help us Lord to follow the course
Just as you showed with the equestrian horse.
Lord open our ears that we might hear;
Our eyes that we might see
Give the nudge and pull of the reigns
Cause us to be exceptionally trained.
Holy Spirit, I know You will answer me.
For if I seek Your face and make the call
You will cause Your glory to fall,
You will teach us one and all!
So Lord I’m willing, I know you won’t force,
I choose to be trained as the equestrian horse;
he knows his rider’s every move and whisper:
He jumps each obstacle and becomes the victor!
Creation groans for redemption, I also groan from within:
For the redemption of all peoples and their freedom from all sin.
Help us, Holy Spirit, to reach the nations of the world.
“To our Lord Jesus Christ”, the banner is now unfurled.
For he that wins souls is wise and may present a jeweled crown
To the One and Only Lord of all, The Son of the Living God.
It is my prayer that we all will be waiting, to hear the trumpet sound.
